Maccripine officially opened to members from Macclesfield, Pinetops, Crisp and Edgecombe County on Saturday, August 5, 1967.  Originally, construction began in June, 1966. The initial membership was 259 members.

 

The entire facility occupies 185 acres.  The course was designed by Leo Green, engineer with F.T. Green and Associates of Wilson and constructed by Charles and Associates of Charlotte.

 

The first Golf Pro and Greens Superintendent was William Lytton.
